Green butterflies covered a wall at Canyon Springs Community Facility (CS) in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Residents created the fluttering project that symbolized mental health transformation, recovery, and the journey of healing.  They collected items, cut shapes, and painted the butterflies and tree.  The mural also featured messages about the importance of mental health for all of us, including notes that read “You are not alone.”

Mental Health Awareness Month is recognized each May.  Other activities included exercise, journaling, self-care, meditation, gardening, and wearing green on Fridays.  The color green has become a symbol for mental health awareness, symbolizing hope, strength and emotional support.
